the wedding day itself, Aziz was not only professional and tactical, but also very kind, funny, thoughtful and open to any preferences or requests we had while providing his input as needed. He is a people person and has a presence to him, which is exactly what you’d want in a DJ/MC. Not to mention he dresses well. I am not over exaggerating when I say he’s the full package. His DJ’ing and MC’ing skills are top notch.
From an MC perspective, he knew our reception schedule like the back of his hand and executed every request we had made to make sure everything ran as planned. He prioritized us and the schedule while making sure the guests were having a blast. He took his job so seriously that he refused a meal to ensure the everything was on schedule and he was focusing on his job. He even picked up some trash from the dance floor throughout the night which was above and beyond his responsibilities. He also offered to set up our photobooth backdrop which was really nice of him. Aziz knew how to hype up the crowd and seamlessly transitioned from one scheduled event to another. He made sure the moments that should be calm and relaxing were, such as dinner, and the moments that should be high energy were in fact really high energy and excited the crowd.
Now, from a DJ’ing perspective, he was phenomenal. He told us exactly how to organize the handful of playlists and had us fill out a form with the details and references to what songs should be played when. We provided him with the playlists and some requests and he mashed them up well and transitioned from Arabic, English, French and Spanish songs seamlessly. No abrupt breaks between songs. No awkward or out of place transitions. Just a very well thought out arrangement of our playlists with beautiful transitions that kept guests on the dance floor literally all night. Midnight came around and our guests wanted more. He cared so much about making sure we all had a good time that he allowed my wife and I as well as my best man and the maid of honor behind the DJ booth and showed us the controls so we ended up DJ’ing for a bit as well with his assistance.
All in all, looking for a great MC? Go with Aziz. Looking for a great DJ? Also go with Aziz. You will not be disappointed.

One of the most meaningful moments was during my brother-sister dance, when I wanted to honor my father who passed away by playing a voice note of him before the dance. Julio made sure everything was timed perfectly and treated that moment with the care and respect it deserved. It meant more to me than I can put into words.
Beyond those special moments, he understood the vibe we wanted for our reception and brought it to life. ommunication, and adaptability, but Chuck fell short on all fronts:
Communication & Preparation: Chuck sent a text message on the morning of our wedding to inform (only the groom) that our chosen processional song wasn't available. Waiting until the morning of the event to handle music availability forced unnecessary stress onto us when it should have been sorted out weeks in advance. He then approached the bride during photos with her father to sort it out. Not acceptable at all. Your poor planning doesn't qualify interrupting photos or lurking around.
Lack of Attention to Detail: He missed key details during introductions, requiring us to stop and remind him in the moment. Spotify playlists that were requested were completely ignored/not incorporated. There was clunky music flow near the end of the night for our last song choice. Conversations in our final call were not executed, not documented and thus we were accused of them not happening.
Zero Accountability: When we privately reached out after four attempts to give feedback about our disappointing experience, Chuck offered zero apologies. Instead, he made excuses, blamed other vendors/officiants, and condescendingly suggested our recollection of our own wedding was incorrect because he felt the energy was fine.
A DJ shouldn't just play music; they should execute the day smoothly and listen to the couple's vision. Chuck’s defensive response post wedding showed a complete lack of professionalism. I would caution future couples to look elsewhere for someone who takes accountability and properly prepares. We have other examples and could go on but I think this clears the point to look elsewhere.

Even the shy friends and teenage cousins got out there and stayed. I forgot to eat any wedding cake because I also didn't want to stop dancing!

There's so many things to think about on your wedding day but being able to let go of worrying about the music and the crowd was so freeing and genuinely allowed us to enjoy our day to the fullest. Chuck worked with our venue (The Owls Nest) and coordinated everything so that there were no awkward gaps in the reception and made sure to provide everything so that we could be heard crystal clear during our outdoor ceremony. I can't say enough great things about our experience with Chuck but the one thing I need to make sure they hear is "Thank You!!". The one question that sticks out in my mind from the wedding day is Chuck asking "Are you happy?" ck, and to say he was part of the family through the whole process goes without saying. He gets the bride and groom and the whole family and reads the crowd! He has great suggestions, he has the couple practice their first dance before everyone comes in and sets up a private last dance just for the couple with incredible lighting. He has a tremendous amount of energy and is non stop! He won't stop to eat!!! He is also full of lots of resources as well.

I trusted him to take care of our guests - keeping the party going with a playlist that was a hit for EVERYONE - from the younger kids to the older adults - we had people dancing all night. He was fantastic for our reception introductions, and he handled all our music requests with expertise. We had several compliments afterward about what a great DJ we had and how impressed they were. We also added the microphone service for our ceremony, and uplighting for the reception, which I HIGHLY recommend - Uplighting is such a game changer and it really elevated the mood and set the tone for dancing as well - Chuck had great suggestions about keeping the dinner part of the night lit with a candlelight-orange glow, and the dancing part mostly blues (our wedding colors), with some fun tricks like changing it to pink for ‘Pink Pony Club’. Unfortunately had quite a few issues with this vendor. We were very excited to hire Julio after seeing him DJ at my cousins wedding but it did not meet any of our expectations.

ulio did not show for our final meeting, which we had to reschedule because of his no shows twice, and rushed through the call when we finally got him on the phone. Jimmie, the owner of the company, said that is just how it goes and did not think it was an issue.
Julio also arrived late, which we received our “ceremony fee” back but it caused the entire day to run behind.
Part of working with them includes filling out a form of everyone’s name, what songs people are walking out to, first dance, parent dance songs etc. I was very specific with our first dance song, including the song title, artist name, album title and a brief description of what the album cover looked like. Julio ended up playing the wrong version of the song. Jimmie, the owner, told me their system does not display album titles so it’s not their fault for getting it wrong.
Julio also had us do the parent dances in the wrong order, which wouldn’t have been a big deal but at the end of my husbands dance with his mom, Julio called my husband by the wrong name and it was very noticeable to guests.
I was even more shocked by the conversation with Jimmie, the owner, after the event because he continuously said that they cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made throughout the event. I asked why they have couples fill out their forms if they are not going to follow them throughout the event and he said that their DJs are only contracted to play music from time A to time B and are not responsible for any mistakes made throughout the event because they aren’t contracted to play specific songs just general music.
So be warned, 617 DJs can dodge all your calls before the event, show up late, play the wrong music, and call the groom by the wrong name and they will consider it “satisfaction complaints” rather than owning their mistakes.

He kept our dance floor absolutely PACKED the entire night, even before it officially opened, people couldn't wait to get out there. When our dinner was delayed, Jimmie just rolled with it, kicked off the dancing early, and made sure our guests never stopped having fun. One thing that made the whole planning experience so easy was the online portal through 617 Weddings. Tracking our music, putting together our timeline, and handling all the details was so convenient, we loved how simple it was to use and how organized it kept us. Throughout the night, Jimmie was incredibly helpful—he let us know when to greet tables, when we could just relax and enjoy each other, and even timed my dress change perfectly. The parent dances went off without a hitch, and Jimmie’s ability to read the room was just spot on. Plus, the photobooth from 617 Weddings was such a hit!
